Blogger is recommended for content sites. If you are anticipating a lot of traffic or need to post a lot of links I recommend Wordpress.

Wordpress (both .com and .org)
 I also have a magazine style site you can check out.

*Wordpress is a favorite of mine because it is extremely customizable and if you own your URL (self hosted) you can put any content you want.
 *Wordpress.com is not self hosted and free on their servers. (Not as customizable as Wordpress.org.)
*Wordpress.org is recommended if you have advertising or affiliate links you would like on your site.

Webs.com (formally FreeWebs)
*this site is highly customizable and you can also have a custom url added to it. It is hosted on their servers.
